Non Slip Tactile Surfaces

Tactile surfaces are designed to benefit the visually impaired.

They are to indicate that they are 400mm away from a step up or step down.

A 400mm wide tactile is to indicate to the person that there is an immediate turn either on a platform showing a door way or on a platform showing a stair case.

A 800mm wide tactile is to indicate to the person that the doorway or stair case is straight ahead.

Tactile surfaces should be at the top and bottom of every flight of steps.
