Fastrack platforms by Suregrip were asked to design a bespoke Steel/GRP hybrid system for their VIP area in Liverpool Football Clubs new main stand. Due to constraints imposed by the build, it had to be a light weight modular system that could be lifted in to position and installed by hand. there were ten rows in excess of 100 linear meters per row created, with 7 sets of stairs and support for the seating incorporated in to the design. There were 10 types of seats from three different suppliers and the whole concept had to be coordinated in our design office.
The hole project had to be completed within the close season and coordinated with the other trades on site. As a concept this had never been tried before but we were always confident of success. The feedback from the client and end user has been tremendous and this project has been a success in every way.

The steel sub-frame was all cut from NC data on tube lasers by Parker Steel in Canterbury and Manufactured by All Counties Supplies(ACS Engineering in Telford) and also our own J&A Stevenson's fabrication shop. It was phased and Lotted to a measured programme of works and delivered within 8 weeks from starting the preliminary design works, which in in today's very difficult construction arena, is nothing short of a miracle.
The GRP was manufactured here at Suregrip in Telford using a pigmented resin, the nosings to all the stairs had to be in a contrasting colour which was created by using our own coloured grits so the colour wont ever fade from heavy footfall.
The mantra here at Fastrack Platforms is very much from a can do perspective, we are an innovative and forward thinking company that has inserted itself in to the rail sectors, highways sector, Crossrail and LUL, we have also undertaken work from TFL and most councils throughout the UK,
Our Structread is nominated by Network rail in Scotland and our Electrosafe palisade fencing is nominated by Network Rail in England. We have developed and delivered several temporary platforms for Crossrail and developed two new steel/GRP hybrid systems for Denham and Hartford Stations which were used to bring the paltforms back in to gauge without the need for heavy civil's work, So its been an outstanding year so far and we are all incredibly excited for the new year.
